From the desk of Mark Benjamin:  PPA Power Stat Sheet / PPA Classification System

Within the Crucialverse, paranormals are classified by using a three-pronged process.  Meaning that three things are classified to identify the paranormals classification.  These areas of identification are species, type, and power level.  Each of these three subclasses will be examined to better explain the classification process.

The first subclass evaluated is perhaps the easiest to judge or identify, and that is the species subclass.  There are only 3 species of paranormals identified at this point and time.  They are:

  • Natural Paranormal: NPN
  • Enhanced Paranormal: EPN
  • Artificial Paranormal: APN

A letter and definition is of course given to each of the preceding species.  They are:

  • A: NPN- persons born with abilities untainted by man.
  • B: EPN- persons born with abilities augmented in one way or another by man.
  • C: APN- persons not born with abilities but endowed with them by man.

An example of classification at this point would simply be reflected as:

1)      A-_:________

The next subclass to be examined would be that of type.  It is a reflection of the abilities exhibited by the paranormal.  There are 8 types of paranormals.  They are:

1.       Physical: powers involve some form of physical augmentation i.e strength, speed, endurance, hearing, etc.

              2.      Energy Sensitive: powers revolve around energy be it control, absorption, dispersal, etc.

3.      Elemental: powers involve some type of elemental (earth, wind, fire and etc.) in one form or another.

4.      Variable: powers involve the manipulation of one’s physical person i.e. invisibility, intangibility, shape-shifting, etc.

5.      Medicinal: powers include those that can heal and/or augment others.

6.      Mental: abilities produced by thought or feelings such as those of telepathy, empathy, telekinesis, etc.

7.      Temporal: powers involve the dispersal of an object from or the control of time, be it teleporting oneself or an object, or

                     stopping time completely.

8.      Detrimental: This level requires constant supervision, powers involve a combination of some sort of the previous types.

An example of classification at this stage would be represented as:

2)     A-1:________

The final subclass is probably the most important to the government.  It is a representation of the power level of the paranormal.  There are 5 levels in this subclass(It should be noted that the character bible is the source of information for this one).   They are:

·         Alpha: Statistical Average falls within the 0-2.99 range

·         Beta: Statistical Average falls within the 3-3.99 range

·         Gamma: Statistical Average falls within the 4-4.99 range

·         Delta: Statistical Average falls within the 5-5.99 range

·         Omega: Statistical Average falls within the 6-8 range

An example of a completed classification would be represented as such.

3)     A-1:Alpha

An example of someone like Hazard would be:  A-8: Omega
